See what’s new The presumption of conformity of the standards still currently harmonized under the Low Voltage Directive (IEC/EN/UL/CSA 60950-1 and IEC/EN/UL/CSA 60065) will expire, when EN 62368-1 comes into force on December 20, 2020. This is also the case for the United States, where UL 62368-1 will be applied.

In this article we will focus on equipment having an existing IEC 60950-1 CB certification. PULS would also like to reference section 4.1.1 of EN 62368-1, which permits the use of subassemblies to IEC 60950-1 without further assessment (expressed in simple terms). In many cases, there could also be the possibility to issue an EU Declaration of Conformity according to EN 62368-1 for a complete system, even if a power supply according to IEC 60950-1 is used. Also, an IEC 62368-1 CB report may be able to adapt test data from a valid IEC 60950-1 CB report, as per CB OD 2020 clause 5.5.
